After improving slightly in the first half of the year, the impact of Australia’s two-speed economy has put pressure back on home building trades.
Figures released today from the HIA-Austral Bricks Trades Report for the September quarter 2006 show that home building trades in the booming regions of Western Australia and Regional Queensland remain under pressure.
Australia’s peak building industry body, HIA, said that across the nation, the price of 13 key home building trades rose by 1.8 per cent for the September quarter to be up 2.0 per cent over the year.
